We know that parents want to get it right, to use the right terms, to be age appropriate, to ensure our young people have the right information at the right time and the confidence to ask questions. But we also know that this can be difficult – You may feel your own PSHE was lacking, or that the internet has changed the playing field so much that you don’t recognise it anymore. Often, we aren’t sure of the right terms (and they change!), or we’re scared of getting it wrong, or we aren’t comfortable ourselves with discussing these issues, and if we aren’t, how can we expect our young people to be able to?
We offer frank, factual, experienced and non-judgemental support, through organised sessions or online seminars. These are usually organised through schools, but we can be booked privately by families, home-schooling groups, or indeed anyone with an interest in gaining confidence and understanding of RSE
We can and will work to suit the needs of parents and schools, and can be flexible in what we provide to focus on your needs. Our core session plan runs over 4 evenings, and is as follows,
Session 1: Confidence with the basics – terminology and slang, age appropriateness and when to start, dating expectations and where LGBT fits within RSE.
Session 2: Technical Information – Consent and legal consent, Contraception.
Session 3: The Wider World – Pornography and media, online relationships, nudes/sexual images and messages.
Session 4: Blank Page – Anything that hasn’t been covered or needs more time, plus discussion of your questions, worries, scenarios and fears.
