For a subject like RSE that hits so many areas of School life, there will always be a huge range of experiences, knowledge, and comfort levels. From SLT to form tutors, a basic grounding in RSE can be vital for tackling the hard questions, supporting young people, and a whole range of pastoral issues. We will work with any staff members who would benefit from a more secure grounding in RSE, helping them gain confidence and knowledge to discuss and teach these topics. Often, just a basic grounding in knowledge is enough to break the taboos and give us the confidence to discuss the issues.
We love our subject. We have not met a dedicated PSHE teacher who doesn't. Talking about it, sharing ideas and good practice, and building our subject knowledge is vital to delivering quality lessons. We will work with dedicated PSHE teachers and Subject Leads on any aspect that could benefit you, but especially sharing ideas and best practice in the subject, on lesson content, planning, assessment, and delivery.
These sessions are naturally pitched differently to those for parents or young people, offering a hard hitting honesty drawn from years of experience in the classroom.
We will always work with teachers to deliver what they need, and will work hard to ensure that our advice and guidance is tailored to your needs. Sessions can focus on any aspect of RSE, but some suggestions are below:
